Device Monitoring and Reporting
OpenTV Device Monitoring and Reporting provides accurate, real-time data about what people are actually doing when they watch TV. As digital television offerings don't offer network operators direct, two-way interaction with their subscribers, this solution bridges a critical information gap.

OpenTV's Device Monitoring and Reporting solution combines device and head-end software to gather, report on, and analyze service data from subscriber set-top box terminals, including live viewing behaviors, application interactions, and PVR use. With this data, network operators can proactively identify and address service quality issues, preventing costly service calls and reducing customer churn. They can also gain insight into viewer behavior, which enables evaluation of existing offerings and tight control over pilots of new features and services, increasing the success of both.

Remote Device Management
This solution can be used to send targeted messages containing commands, short text strings, alers and set-top box notifications to individual households, specific groups or all households.

Sample implementations of this flexbile solution include:
